Stay in the Sand Hotel

Have you ever had trouble deciding which international resort you want to visit for your summer holiday? It seems more and more people are choosing to stay in the UK and visit traditional resorts throughout the country.

The Weymouth Sand Hotel

To celebrate this, 4 sculptors have created a hotel on Weymouth Beach! 1000 tonnes of sand and 14 hours a day for just over a week has created one of the most interesting hotels in the world. With the help of a JCB, the team worked to create the "room" with a window, bedside tables and even beds made out of sand!

The Sand Hotel offers the chance for people to stay for £10 per night, but don't expect any luxuries. If you want to stay at the hotel you'll have to bring your own bedding and there isn't any room service.

Creator Mark Anderson warns that the sand gets everywhere, especially between your toes, but it is definitely an experience to stay in the Sand Hotel. There are no toilet facilities on site, but where else are you woken by the sea lapping through the door way? Staying in the hotel on the beach is really a chance to get back to nature. There is no roof on the structure, so you can spend your night staring at the stars, enjoying a Great British Summer!

The British Weather

Obviously Britain is known for its unpredictable weather, so the Hotel will be open until it is washed away by the tide or rain. To book at night at the Sand Hotel you'd better hurry up as you never know when it will be washed away. LateRooms.com are taking bookings on 020 7841 6682 on a first come, first served basis.
