Padstow

Padstow is a small town on the Cornish coast. The name comes from Petroc-stow after St Petroc, a Welsh missionary.

The 'Obby 'Oss

The 'Obby 'Oss festival starts at 00:00 on 1st May every year, when people sing the "Morning Song". This is followed by male dancers making their way through the town dressed as one of the two 'Obby 'Osses called 'Old' and 'Blue Ribbon', in stylised horse costumes. At midnight the crowd sing about the 'Obby 'Oss death, and the festival is finished for another year.
